Starlight Psychology

This portfolio example illustrates a Rebrand, Website Redesign, Headshots and an Explainer Video with Dr. Stu Hoover and his company Starlight Psychology. We work alongside Dr. Hoover guiding his rebrand, new website build, headshots, and producing him an explainer video to break down the fear people may have when first reaching out to a psychologist.

Client

Dr. Hoover practices psychology by forming a working relationship with clients based on careful listening, respect, and trust. He helps people who are struggling with life transitions (e.g. career, family, relationship, loss) and recovery (e.g. trauma, depression, stress/anxiety, isolation). He is pleased to work with mature minors and adults and have experience making therapy a “port of entry” for them to engage and achieve their goals!

 

Solutions

  1. Logo Design: Dr. Hoover approached us with a simple text logo that was effective at start-up, but has since lost him credibility in comparison to his competitors. In the Canadian Forces, the call-sign “Starlight” is for medical personnel, and so a call over the radio for “Starlight” was a call for help somewhere on the battlefield. Dr. Hoover believes life can feel like a battlefield in that we know we have an organized plan to accomplish our goals, but these can degrade into a confusing mess of pain, fear, and isolation. With this in mind, Crow set out to create Dr. Hoover a logo that would resonate with his clinic and clients.
  2. Explainer Video: Through research, Crow was able to find many leads bouncing from Dr. Hoover’s old contact page. After conversation and additional research, we found it was due to fear of reaching out to a Psychologist for the first time. To break down this barrier and show Dr. Hoover in a relatable light, we produced an explainer video which quickly increased form submissions once added to his new website.
  3. Website Redesign: Dr. Hoover built his original website from scratch. It did the trick at the time, but since, it has lost him leads, wasn’t mobile friendly, and was an uninteresting customer experience. In a cost-effective manner, we were able to position Dr. Hoover’s practice ahead of his competitors, improving SEO, customer experience, and most importantly…increased leads.
  4. Headshots: To stand out from the competition and to make a statement on the homepage of his website, we worked alongside Ryan Parker Photography to capture high resolution headshots for Dr. Hoover.
